FloraCare Privacy Policy
This policy describes how FloraCare ("we") handles information when you use the FloraCare mobile app. It applies only to this app, not to other apps that share our servers.
What we collect
- Plant photos you take or pick so we can identify a species or diagnose a health problem.
- Garden and diary data you save (nicknames, care logs, optional diary photos).
- Account identifiers — a device-based guest account, and, if you sign in, an Apple or Google identifier. We do not collect your name or email from those providers unless they send it as part of the sign-in token.
- Purchase history for subscriptions, so we can unlock Pro features.
- Crash and diagnostic data (including IP address) so we can keep the service running.
We do not use plant photos to recognize people, build a face profile, or track anyone. If a person appears in a photo by accident, we do not use that part.
How identification and diagnosis run
The photo goes to our servers first. Identification is matched through PlantNet via our gateway. Diagnosis goes through a language model on the same gateway. The app never talks to those providers directly and never holds their keys.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade plant photos or account data. While a run is in progress the photo sits on our servers. We do not post it to a public feed. Processors we use (hosting, PlantNet, the vision model) see only what they need to finish the request you started.
How long we keep it
- An identification photo is dropped after the result is ready — usually minutes, not days.
- A diagnosis photo may stay so you can reopen the care plan. Delete the record in the app and that photo goes with it.
- We do not keep photos to train a model.
- Garden, diary, and account data stay until you delete them or delete the account.
Deleting your account
Use Delete account in Settings. That removes your garden, records, uploads, and signs you out. You can also email [email protected].
Children
FloraCare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
