Who operates Sleep Sounds
Sleep Sounds is operated by ColorfulMoon. This policy covers the iPhone and iPad app and these public information pages. If you have a privacy request, use the contact button on our support page.
What stays on your device
The app works without an account. Sound playback and mixing run on your device. Your saved mixes, favorites, preferences, and listening-session records are stored locally. Listening-session records remain on the device, with up to 1,000 recent records retained. Listening duration records describe app use; they are not measurements of sleep stages, sleep quality, or a medical condition. We do not receive these records on an operator-run server.
Optional personal iCloud
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, supported saved mixes, favorites, and preferences can be transferred through Apple’s iCloud associated with your Apple Account. Apple operates this service under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not operate a separate account or backup service for these records. Sync requires compatible iCloud settings and a network connection; an enabled switch alone does not guarantee a completed sync. The app marks its local data directory as excluded from device and iCloud backups. Optional sync uses Apple’s iCloud key-value service for saved mixes, favorites, and supported preferences; listening-session records are not included. Switching Apple Accounts pauses sync until you enable it again.
Permissions and tracking
We do not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking identifiers, or cross-app tracking. The app does not record microphone audio or request your contacts or precise location. This version does not request notification permission.
Public website and support
Opening a policy or support link contacts our public website. Hosting and network providers, including our Cloudflare delivery layer and Singapore origin host, may process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, request time, browser information, and requested path to deliver and protect the pages. These pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising, cookies, or tracking pixels. Provider log retention depends on provider settings and policies; we do not claim these network requests leave no trace. If you choose to email support, your email provider and ours process your message and address. We use that information to respond and resolve your request; do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive records.
Your choices and deletion
You can edit or delete saved content in the app and use its data controls to export a local JSON file through the system share sheet or clear local data. Clearing all data while sync is enabled also sends deletion markers to iCloud; when offline, propagation may occur later. We cannot guarantee immediate physical erasure within Apple’s systems. Disabling sync stops future in-app synchronization; it does not by itself promise deletion of existing iCloud copies. Manage existing iCloud data and device backups through Apple’s system settings. Removing the app removes its local storage, but does not necessarily remove device backups or existing iCloud data. We cannot retrieve or erase local-only records for you. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request and applicable obligations.
Children and changes
The app does not ask for age, identity, or a child profile and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an app account. A parent or guardian can contact us about information voluntarily sent to support. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy and, where appropriate, explained in the app before the changed feature is used. The date at the top identifies this version.
